Another Holiday Roundups camp done and dusted. So what now? Do you feel like it’s easier to be a Christian and pray when you’re at the Ranch? Are you a Christian at camp, but back home you’re a totally different person? Maybe you only think about God when you’re at camp? Or maybe you really want to take a step forward in your faith, but you have no idea how to go forward?
Here are a couple of things I’d like to share with you guys now that Roundups are over.
- Follow Jesus
Make the decision to follow Jesus. Every day. Pick up your cross and follow him (Matthew 16:24-26). I’m not just talking about generally making a decision in your life. I’m talking about the day to day, it’s a conscious decision to wake up each day and submit to God and live as He would call us to live. Not as the world tells us to, but as the Bible tells us to.
- Read the Bible & pray
Grow in your relationship with God. Get to know Him through prayer and reading the Bible. You know that prayer doesn’t have to be any magical words or special phrases. Just be honest, talk to God as you would a best friend. Share your life with Him.
- Commit to a church
Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us to not stop meeting together. This doesn’t have to mean that you walk into church service every Sunday. This could mean something like checking out a local youth group on a Friday night or maybe your school has a bible study group that you can connect into and be a part of.
- Encourage one another in these things
Everyone grows tired and weary at times, even us Teen Ranch staff. We need each other to push us forward when we aren’t feeling it. This is what community is. Get on Facebook or email a friend from Roundups and genuinely ask questions and talk. You can even chat to us via the comments section or even the Ranch Connect group on Facebook.
We’d love so much to hear about how you’re all going and what you’re learning now that Roundups are over. Keep searching and seeking!
