The Full Experience

Working at Teen Ranch is far more than a job - it is a practical
mission experience with the rawness of doing life together.

test

History's defining moment.

The impact on our world of the one solitary, manly life of Jesus Christ has been profound. The quiet 33 years of his life have divided history and divided nations. His was a life of humble obedience towards his heavenly Father and of courageous love towards others. This stands out to anyone who seeks to genuinely get to know him, as they read the Gospel stories about him. Those who believe in him know that he is alive today and his influence continues.

This influence comes about as he calls ordinary men and women to follow him - to speak as he spoke, to feel as he felt, to do as he did, to live as he lived - to have a life-pattern and life-style that mirrored his. The first apprentices he gathered didn't have it all together - they were raw men and women, full of contradictions and confusion, who had made big mistakes and who continued to make them. Yet over the three years they lived with Jesus, they started to change. Not all of them (Judas was the exception) and not all at once. But they had begun a whole-of-life apprenticeship, with Jesus as their Master, and they were learning to re-think everything - about life, about God and about the reason they were put on the planet.

Have We Lost Our Way?

Many of us seem to have missed the guts of what Jesus was doing here - even those of us who have spent a lot of our lives in churches. We have heard lots of stuff about God and we may have had diverse experiences in our lives. Yet we are often confused, distracted, worried, lazy or passive about the things of God. The bottom line to look at and the crucial questions to ask are these - are we followers of Jesus? Are we his apprentices? Are we living our lives with him as our Master?

What does it really mean to follow Jesus, in every detail of our lives?

Doing Life God's Way

Jesus shapes men and women as they 'do life' with Him - it is a truly whole-of-life apprenticeship with the best Master of all. Here at Teen Ranch, we have tried to imitate Jesus in the way He trains His followers - we want to 'do life' together in such a way that we are transformed to be more like Him. Residential community, ordinary work, one-on-one mentoring, vocational experience, biblical training and practical mission provide many of the elements that will shape us as disciples of Jesus.

Where are you headed? Do you want to join with us on the great adventure of following Jesus?
