    "Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men..." Colossians 3:23

    Did you know that as followers of Jesus we are called to work? And to not only work but work for God's glory? Did you know that as children of God we have been wonderfully and fearfully made (Psalm 139:14)? And because of that, God has given us skills, talents and gifts to be used for his purpose, his glory and his honour?

    If you follow the American football league (NFL), you'll know that last week the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Arizona Cardinals, 25-13. The big story really wasn't even just about the win, but about the 3rd stringer Quarterback, Landry Jones who in the 2nd half of the game, helped the Steelers gain the lead and secure the win. What's even more amazing is Jones' humble attitude, in an interview with the press after the game, on National and International television, stating that "I want to give God the glory right now, because without him, I don't know where I'd be at right now."

    I don't know about you, but Jones' attitude is encouraging and inspiring for our generation. Our world is so much about the 'me', about 'building ourselves up 'and 'making it to the top', it's great to hear and see that people, no matter if they're elite athletes or accountants or garbage truck drivers are giving the glory back to God. No matter the work, we are called and created for God and to bring him all the praise, glory and honour.

    "I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart;
    I will tell you of all your wonders.
    I will be glad and rejoice in you;
    I will sing praise to your name, O Most High"

    Psalm 9:1-2

    I really want to challenge you on your work, on your school life, on your home life. Are you really living for God in every aspect of your life? It doesn't even just have to be with your unique gifts and talents. The Bible says WHATEVER YOU DO....Have a think and let us know your thoughts or any challenges you've come across.
