"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: the old has gone, the new is here!"
    2 Corinthians 5:17

I don't know about you, but when I read this verse, I'm always amazed at the power and truth here. It's one of those verses that you can read, and kind of just skim over. But what if you stop and meditate on what Paul is saying here? The old has gone, the new is here.

What thoughts do these words provoke in your life? Is there relief? Hope? Excitement? Shame? I know for me, it gives me hope. Everything up to now in my life is the old, it can be cast aside, because with Jesus, as it says in Romans 10:9; if I declare that Jesus is Lord and believe it in my heart, I will be saved, I am that new creation that Paul talks about.

Now, this kind of faith that we're talking about, doesn't just fit with the calendar,  that when January rolls around, then we're a new creation. It starts with your heart. It's a daily renewing. A daily transformation of our mind (Romans 12:2).

As you begin your new year, take the time to pause and reflect on Scripture. What do you believe? Who do you believe in? Will you let Jesus Christ renew you?

From all of us here at Teen Ranch, we pray that 2017 will bring you many blessings and may it be a year of transformation.
