Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, all the sins and blasphemies of men will be forgiven them. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin.” (Mark 3:28-29)

What this passage means is that God will forgive everything that we might do. Whether it is something shocking like murder or something that seems little like a lie - if we sincerely ask for God's forgiveness, then He will give it, no matter what!  He gave us the will to choose Him; He wants us to genuinely love Him and want to follow Him. By accepting God into our lives, we are allowing Him to forgive us and to have a relationship with us.

However, if we know about God but reject His importance in our lives then we are rejecting Him. This means that we are also rejecting the gift that is His forgiveness. By saying “I don't want anything to do with you,” we are turning our back on God and walking away from the free gift that is His forgiveness. This means that the only unforgivable sin in God's eyes is the rejection of God.
